Weather risk ranking

The top 10 cities for each hazard, and the overall risk score.

How to read these rankings

Each table ranks cities by a single hazard score, highest first. The “overall” table ranks by the mean of all six hazards, expressed as a 0–100 score.

The patterns match geography by design: Gulf and Atlantic coast cities dominate the hurricane list, Tornado Alley cities lead tornado, the desert Southwest tops heatwave, and Great Lakes and northern cities lead blizzard. That is the point — these are illustrative values built to reflect broadly known climate patterns, not measured probabilities.

For any city in these tables you can open its profile to see all six hazard cards and an illustrative event history. To put two specific cities head to head, use the compare tool.
